Exploring Two Common Elements in MBD’s Portfolio

Growing up as a Marin County native I have been fortunate to have such natural beauty surrounding me. The unique landscape has played a significant role in shaping my design philosophy and approach to interior design. For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed playing with the balance to be found between the marriage of textural elements with a contrasting finish.

To create a solid foundation, I utilize a variety of finishes such as matte, gloss, lacquer, or one with a distressed hand to it. By incorporating this, I am able to create contrast and depth, adding an element of drama and sophistication to a space.

Texture is another key element that I use to create a sense of coziness and comfort in my designs. Carefully selecting the perfect texture, whether it's a chunky knit or a woven fabric, can create a sense of collected, curated style that is truly one-of-a-kind. I like to choose textures that complement the surrounding landscape and create a seamless approach between the indoors and outdoors.

Whether pairing a contrasting finish with a textural element against a neutral, punchy, or subtly colored palette, I always take great care to select elements that work together harmoniously. These carefully chosen elements create a dynamic conversation between pieces and showcase Maison Blanc Design's signature look. By thoughtfully blending finishes with textured elements, I create a visual and tactile experience that is both sophisticated and inviting. These timeless design elements will never go out of style and will continue to impress for years to come.
