San Anselmo Primary Bath Spotlight

Making sure your primary bathroom has you putting your best foot forward each day is an important component to consider. This is where you are starting and ending your day ultimately, and you want to make sure it can hold space to keep you looking your best.

Today we are sharing some behind the scenes of the bathroom in our San Anselmo project. Our client has decided to completely renovate this space with a new layout, all new materials and finishes, along with all new fixtures for the plumbing and electrical here. Aesthetically they wanted a clean and soothing look, and functionally they wanted to better maximize the square footage of the space.

We started by first looking at how to better maximize the square footage and consider functional needs. This was achieved by knocking down the original shower wall so that this and the toilet could be relocated, helping to allow for a new steam shower that was encased with glass walls. We also looked at how the existing closet could be reinvented by turning this into a built-in cabinet that could provide upper storage and pull-out laundry down below.

From here we started to dive into materials and finishes, leaning towards an ivory and cream palette with a mix of soft nickels and brass. From the start I knew I wanted the bathroom floor tile to steal the show and have a hand to it - the beauty is in the imperfection!

On the hunt for the perfect bathroom floor tile!
